The Second Miraculous Catch of Fish

This is the second time that Jesus outshined Peter at fishing. This time was different though because it was after Jesus’ death and resurrection. Peter’s response on seeing the fish was not as enthusiastic as when he sees Jesus on the shore. He jumps off his boat and runs to see his beloved Rabbi. As he drags the net full of fish to shore for Jesus to cook it, Peter and the disciples are in quiet awe around their risen Saviour.

It is after this meal that Jesus reinstates Peter as a disciple and gives him instructions for his life ahead as a pillar of the church and as an apostle of Christ. He is assigned his life’s mission and launched into a new season by God.

Every miracle that we receive or are a part of is never about us. They are always about making Jesus known and expanding His kingdom’s work on earth. God desires to use our stories of healing, deliverance and restoration to draw many more into His kingdom. There is a magnetic quality about Jesus once you hear of what He has done in someone else’s life! That’s the power of a witness. The twelve disciples were eyewitnesses, but we are life witnesses. Our very lives are testimonies to God’s great power and might.

Like Paul said, we are being led in a triumphant procession in order to spread the aroma of Christ all around us! The thing about an aroma is that it doesn’t have to try to hard, it just is. You just have to tell your story and live like Jesus for people to get a whiff of Him on you. God does the rest!

Dear Heavenly Father

Thank you for sending Your Son Jesus to earth. I praise you for His supernatural power and authority that even today is at work on the earth through the Holy Spirit. I invite You into every area of my life so that You can do the impossible and be glorified in and through me. I long to partner with You in my work and to see You accomplish Your purposes through my life. I pray that You will open my eyes to see You work supernatural miracles in my ordinary, everyday life.

I love You, Father, Son and Spirit.
