DAY 25 OF 28

Day 25—Rest and encounter in worship

Devotional
The journey from breakthrough praise into personal worship then peaks with personally encountering God. There is no fixed route to reaching these moments, but as you are sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, allow God to speak and do what He desires! King David senses that closeness to the Lord in His most famous Psalm: “He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul” (Psalms 23:2-3 NIV). David has a revelation of the Lord being his shepherd, and we see Jesus revealing this truth further when He describes the sheep listening to His voice (John 10:3 NIV) and knowing His voice (John 10:4 NIV) as the good shepherd (John 10:11 NIV).

The place of encounter is not about activity. It’s about simple, spontaneous expressions of worship, waiting, and rest. You have nothing to prove to the Lord in these moments. You have already ministered to Him in praise and worship. Now let Him minister to you! He may speak, or you may simply become more aware of His love and your need for Him.

Prayer
Lord, my mind is often racing because I’m wired to do more than just be. In this moment, I want to learn to simply be with You. I want to encounter Your presence and hear Your voice. Amen.

Application
Start by speaking out a prayer of praise for what God has done in your life.
Sing a simple song of worship that expresses your love for God.
Finally, take a few minutes to wait in silence. If your mind wanders, say, “Lord, I choose to focus on You.” Enjoy His presence and listen for His voice. And if you sense Him speaking, write it down and think about it during the day.

About this Plan

Deeper in Worship

"Deeper In Worship" is a 28-day plan designed to help you grow in your love for God through a fuller understanding of why and how we worship. Worship is for God alone; it is deeply spiritual, often physical, and a journey into encountering the presence of God. The plan includes a daily Psalm and a New Testament passage. It finishes with a short devotional, a prayer, and a suggested application.
