Deeper in Worshipਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 24—Worship expresses a deep desire to know God more
Devotional
A breakthrough in praise is an act of the soul (engaging mind, will, and emotions). From that place of freedom, your spirit feels fully released to express worship to the Lord. Worship draws from a deeper place where you express your heart, and this longing is seen in King David’s words (Psalm 63:1 NIV): “You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you." This is where you become more aware of God’s love for you, and you want to know Him more. It’s natural that your expression will become more personal. David talks about being “fully satisfied” (Psalm 63:5 NIV), noting “I think of you” (Psalm 63:6 NIV) and “I cling to you” (Psalm 63:8 NIV). You see this same heart from the Apostle Paul, who considered “everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord” (Philippians 3:8 NIV). Like David and Paul, open your heart to the Lord and don’t hold back on being honest! He loves you and created you for an intimate relationship with Him. Worship is the place (whether alone or with God’s people) to convey that deep love for Him!
Prayer
Lord, after breaking through in praise, I want to move into more honest worship. Hear my heart today—I love You and I want to know You more. Amen.
Application
Play a song that expresses personal worship and take these few minutes to really sing from your heart to Him. Consciously express the truth of the lyrics. Finish with a simple prayer, expressing your love for God.

About this Plan

"Deeper In Worship" is a 28-day plan designed to help you grow in your love for God through a fuller understanding of why and how we worship. Worship is for God alone; it is deeply spiritual, often physical, and a journey into encountering the presence of God. The plan includes a daily Psalm and a New Testament passage. It finishes with a short devotional, a prayer, and a suggested application.
