Soulful Summer Reset: A 7-Day Devotional to Renew Your Mind, Body, and Spiritਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 7: Soar with Surrender
The final step of this reset is surrender. Not giving up, but surrendering your plans, your pace, and your need for control. When you surrender, you free yourself to fly in faith. That means God’s plans—even when they don’t make sense to us—are always better than anything we could dream up ourselves.
If you’re anything like me, surrender doesn’t come naturally. We cling to what we think we need, whether it’s a relationship, a job, or the approval of others. But when you learn to let go, God does something amazing: He takes your small dreams and exchanges them for blessings far beyond what you could ever imagine.
Let me share three areas of my life where surrendering to God has brought me more peace, joy, and purpose than I could have achieved on my own.
1. Letting Go of My Obsession with Marriage
For years, I was fixated on getting married. In my 20s, I convinced myself that marriage was the ultimate prize that would finally make my life complete. I didn’t see marriage as a blessing or addition to a purpose-filled life; I made marriage the mission itself.
Looking back, I realize how dangerous it was to have this type of mindset. If I had forced myself to get married with this mindset, I would have ended up in a marriage that left me miserable and disconnected from my true purpose. God protected me from that mistake. When I finally surrendered this obsession to Him, He showed me that my marital status doesn’t define my worth and identity. He gave me peace and taught me that it is possible to live an extraordinary life, with or without Mr. Right.
2. Releasing Toxic Jobs and Trusting God for Provision
Another big area where I had to learn to surrender was my career. For years, I stayed in toxic work environments that drained me emotionally and spiritually. I clung to these jobs out of fear. Fear of not having enough, fear of failure, fear of the unknown.
But fear is not from God. When I finally laid it all down in prayer and trusted Him with my career, He made a way. He opened doors for better-paying positions that gave me freedom to work on my passion projects. Things that genuinely bring me joy and allow me to serve others. Letting go wasn’t easy, but it was so worth it.
If you’re stuck in a place that’s robbing you of your peace and purpose, I encourage you to trust God with your future. He is your provider. He sees you. He knows what you need, and He’s never failed to provide for His children.
3. Surrendering Relationships That Drain You
Finally, one of the most freeing things I’ve ever done was surrender relationships that no longer served me. For too long, I let toxic friendships drain my energy, self-worth, and joy. I tried to please people who didn’t want what was best for me.
When I surrendered those connections to God, He did something beautiful. He filled that empty space with real friendships. He also reminded me of one of the greatest gifts I already had, that I had unintentionally taken advantage of my friendship with my mom. She’s always been my biggest cheerleader and prayer warrior.
People may come and go, but God’s love remains constant. He wants you to surround yourself with people who uplift you and point you back to Him. If you’re clinging to relationships that steal your peace, I encourage you to trust God enough to let them go. He will replace what you lose with something better.
As you wrap up this 7-day journey, remember that a reset is just the beginning. Please continue to choose to invite God into every corner of your mind, body, and spirit. I pray this summer will be a sacred reminder that when you intentionally slow down and rest in Him, you’ll find strength, clarity, and a renewed sense of purpose for every season ahead.
