Soulful Summer Reset: A 7-Day Devotional to Renew Your Mind, Body, and Spiritਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 3: Anchor Your Heart (Soul)
I’ve always been naturally active. It’s hard for me to sit still! I’m constantly on the move, checking things off my to-do list, and keeping myself busy. But as I’ve matured, I’ve deeply appreciated the beauty of unplanned days. Those quiet, unscheduled moments have become sacred. They offer space to breathe, to reflect, and most importantly, to simply be. I no longer view a jam-packed calendar as a badge of honor. Instead, I see it as a warning sign. A reminder that I’m possibly pushing away the peace God is trying to give me.
One of the most transformative habits I’ve adopted is starting and ending my day in God’s Word. It’s not about checking off a religious task; it’s about aligning my heart and mind with the One who gives my day purpose. If it's difficult for you to make time for God, start small. Begin your morning with a Scripture, a prayer, or even a moment of silence to acknowledge Him. The truth is, God will not compete with your busyness. If we have time to scroll through social media, binge-watch shows, or run countless errands, we certainly have time to cultivate a relationship with Him. It’s all about priorities.
I’ve also grown to love spending time by myself. Solitude is not loneliness. It’s space for reflection, restoration, and reconnection with God. If being alone makes you uncomfortable, that is a red flag worth exploring. It indicates that you’re avoiding deeper conversations with yourself and God. You can’t build a strong relationship with Him if your life is constantly filled with chaos and noise. God’s guidance often comes in a whisper, not a shout. If we insist on surrounding ourselves with distractions such as people, places, and things, we’ll miss the gentle nudges He gives us to walk in our purpose.
Stillness isn’t weakness; it’s sacred. It may feel slightly awkward if you’re not used to slowing down. However, stillness is often the very space where God speaks the loudest. So today, give yourself permission to sit still. Anchor your soul in His presence. Be intentional about carving out room for silence, and in that sacred space, listen for His voice. You might be surprised at the clarity and direction He’s been waiting to give you all along.
Reflection:
How can I be still so I can hear God’s voice?
