Soulful Summer Reset: A 7-Day Devotional to Renew Your Mind, Body, and Spiritਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 2: Breathe and Be (Body)
Far too many times, I’ve worked nonstop on my computer for hours, pushing through without a single break. I’ve skipped workouts, sacrificed sleep, and poured every ounce of energy into completing a project. But let’s be real—this isn’t sustainable. It’s harmful. Repeating this cycle has taken a toll on my health and, even worse, it’s interfered with my ability to show up fully in my relationship with God.
When I’m exhausted, I can’t hear God. My spirit feels foggy, my patience wears thin, and I become short-tempered with those around me. Not because I’m unkind, but because I’m running on empty. I’ve even had stress manifest physically—eye twitching, headaches, pure burnout. That’s not how God designed us to live. Our health is our wealth.
Additionally, we’re not supposed to rely solely on hustle. God wants us to rest in Him. When we forget to pause, we cut off our access to the strength we need to thrive. Let’s stop wearing exhaustion like a badge of honor and instead start honoring God with our rhythms. Invite Him into our schedules and trust His strength over our own.
I’m doing my best to embody and demonstrate this mindset to God, as I’ve become more intentional about exercising. Whether going for a walk, lifting weights, or simply stretching, I’ve learned the importance of stepping away from the screen and reconnecting with myself. These moments of movement aren’t just about fitness. They’re sacred pauses that help me reset my mind, release stress, and return to work with a clearer perspective and renewed energy.
Resetting your soul also includes honoring your body, not with perfection but with presence. Are you breathing deeply? Are you resting intentionally? God dwells in you. Treat your body like holy ground.
Reflection:
How can I honor God with my physical body this week?
