Are We Loving Well?

DAY 14 OF 15

Devotional 14: Love Endures All Things

“…love endures all things…” — 1 Corinthians 13:7 (ESV)

Reflection

Endurance is the ultimate test of love. It’s the ability to stay committed, faithful, and loving through all the highs and lows of life. Love endures because it is grounded in a choice, not a fleeting feeling. It chooses to stay, even when the journey is long, hard, or seemingly without reward.

Endurance is what makes love resilient. It’s not shaken by hardship, not defeated by setbacks. Love doesn’t give up when faced with conflict, pain, or disappointment. Instead, it grows deeper, stronger, and more unwavering. Love endures because it is sustained by God’s strength and His faithful promises.

Scripture References

  • James 1:12 (ESV) – “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”
  • Romans 5:3-4 (ESV) – “Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.”
  • 2 Timothy 4:7 (NIV) – “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Practical Application

  • When faced with challenges in relationships, remember that love endures. Choose to stay present, even when it’s difficult.
  • Reflect on past hardships where you’ve seen God’s faithfulness. Let these reminders strengthen your endurance in the present.
  • Encourage others who are struggling to endure with patience and grace, offering support and prayers when needed.

Prayer

Lord, Your love for me never gives up, never fades, and never fails. Help me to endure in love, even when it’s difficult or painful. Strengthen my heart to remain steadfast, trusting in Your perfect plan. Thank You for Your example of enduring love. May my love reflect Your unfailing commitment to those who are lost and hurting. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Call to Action

This week, find an area where you’ve been tempted to give up or walk away. Commit to enduring in love in that area—whether it’s a relationship, a task, or a personal challenge. Ask God for the strength to remain faithful and persistent.

About this Plan

Are We Loving Well?

God is love, and we love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). Still, life’s hardships and our human flaws often make it hard to love others as God loves us. The aim isn’t perfection but transformation—becoming more like Christ in how we love. As you reflect, ask yourself: Are we loving well? This isn’t about comparing ourselves to others, but about honestly assessing our hearts, identifying where growth is needed, and realigning our love with God’s, so that His love can flow through us more freely.
