The Thief of Everythingਨਮੂਨਾ

The Thief of Everything

DAY 2 OF 15

One of the most challenging places to avoid comparison? Online! When we see the highlight reels of everyone else’s lives, it isn’t easy to keep ourselves from comparing their wins to our own. Are we as successful as they are? Have we accomplished as much as they have? Will we ever achieve the things they’ve achieved? The longer we scroll, the harder comparison comes at us through the screen. But have you ever stopped to consider that perhaps what’s standing in the way of your success and achievements isn’t someone else? Maybe it’s something else entirely! As Scripture reminds us, keeping our eyes on the wins of others is a meaningless endeavor. Not only will it keep us caught up in comparison, but it will also limit our ability to see ourselves and our successes through the proper perspective.

Instead of staying on the meaningless path of comparison, why not put down your phones, get out from under the screens, and shift your perspective to the good God has already given you in your life? The reality is, someone else’s success doesn’t have to take away from our own. Instead of keeping our eyes on them, let’s work to adopt God’s perspective when it comes to our achievements, goals, and wins in life. Today, instead of letting the success of others motivate you, make a list of the good things you’ve got going in your own life. The wins, the achievements, the successes—thank God for each one of them and ask for His help to keep your perspective on the right things.

About this Plan

The Thief of Everything

It’s easy to get caught up in comparison. We compare our thoughts, words, actions, relationships, and even our faith. Chances are, if we’re honest, we’d admit that comparison makes us feel a lot worse. It has the potential to steal our joy, self-image, peace, success, and faith. That’s because comparison is a thief. As we’ll see in this series, we’ll look at the secret to breaking the cycle of comparison.
