Ten Men: The Rich Connections Every Man Needs (A Study of King David)ਨਮੂਨਾ

God's Heart (A Man Who Chases The Heart of God)
Before we even meet David, we already know the most important thing about him. We know he is a chaser of the heart of God. We know that God has been watching him before we could see him. God saw humility. God saw courage. God saw a heart that would obey Him. The foundational relationship of David’s life was his relationship with God’s heart. This is the very definition of who David was. He was a “man after my [God’s]own heart” (Acts 13:22 NLT).
David was known for his relentless pursuit of the heart of God. What an amazing thing to be known for! Nothing could be greater. This is the first and best thing we learn about David. His love for God made the “soil” of his life fertile ground where relationships could flourish. David made relationships with people look effortless because he had established his relationship with God first. Every man, regardless of personality type, can do this. You can excel in this area, but you must know God’s heart first.
Few things in life are more powerful than being chosen. We all remember standing in line waiting to be picked for a kickball team or that dreaded dodgeball game. The cool “captains” surveyed the crowd, and all you could do was wait and hope you weren’t picked last. Everybody wants to be chosen. This is one of those involuntary spiritual and emotional traits we all have. From the time we are children, we crave to be selected and assigned. We all want to be wanted. This desire in our souls is a whisper of the divine. God put in us the need to be chosen. God also created in us the ability and free will to choose Him. His desire is for us to choose Him as He has chosen us. Even God loves being chosen.
In Psalm 78, we read this about David: "He chose his servant David, calling him from the sheep pens. He took David from tending the ewes and lambs and made him the shepherd of Jacob’s descendants—God’s own people, Israel. He cared for them with a true heart and led them with skillful hands" (Psalm 78:70–72 NLT). God chose David. He searched for a man who loved His heart and found one in David.
First Samuel 13:14 tells us that God “sought out a man after his own heart” (NLT). God is always seeking men who are after His heart. This should speak loudly to anyone who feels trapped in obscurity. You may think you are hidden, but if you seek God’s heart, He will find you. This is how God chooses. His radar is always searching, and it only has one setting: “Purity of Heart.” Second Chronicles 16:9 tells us, “The eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth so that He may support those whose heart is completely His” (AMP). Our God is a searcher. He loves searching for people who want to give Him their hearts entirely. No shepherd field is remote enough to keep God from finding a man seeking after Him.
