God built you for connection. Your relational life is what will lead you to destiny and success. I encourage you to stop praying for resources and opportunities and begin praying for God-ordained relationships. You are only one key friendship away from treasure—a few relationships away from striking oil! You are not seeking people for blessing’s sake but because you obey God’s will. The kingdom of God is built on relationships, and God’s primary way of blessing your life is through divine connections. Life is not so much about what you are called to do; it’s about whom you are called to do it with.

Next to Jesus, David might be the most relational person in the entire Bible. David intimately understood his need for others, whether from sheer self-awareness or desperation. Most men lack this simple but life-changing realization. We are not “desperados out riding fences” or “Supermen” with such great powers that no one could ever understand our burden. No, we are fragile creatures with destinies far beyond our finite abilities. All of us have giant weaknesses. We need help. We need each other.
