Ten Men: The Rich Connections Every Man Needs (A Study of King David)ਨਮੂਨਾ

Elite Forces (David & The Thirty-Three)
This select list of men in 2 Samuel 23 is often called the “30 and the 3,” even though the final verse of the chapter says, “There were thirty-seven in all” (2 Samuel 23:39 NLT). Scripture breaks down this fierce group of fighters into categories: a special “three” are singled out by their superior deeds and unparalleled loyalty to David; then, there are the leaders of the three and the thirty. Finally, there is a list of named soldiers and their tribes that forever separates them from the average masses. These thirty-seven men were chosen from the thousands of others who served. To make this list was a badge of honor, an earned right of the few.
Most of the people in David’s life were attached to his calling. Some made only minor contributions, but many were key characters who were integral to his story. They were part of the inner circle that helped carry the massive weight of David’s assignment. Every man requires a support system of elite forces who can help him reach new heights in life—men who inspire that man to realize his full potential because they possess a level of excellence that is both uncommon and rare. David could not have won the wars he was called to fight all by himself. He needed mighty men who had the same warrior spirit he did.
You have probably heard it said, “If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room.” This quote is attributed to many different people. A lot of people say it, but very few live it. Great people were drawn to David, but one of his consistent leadership traits was his lack of personal intimidation when surrounded by them. Many men allow their insecurities to limit the quality of their relationships. They must shine brighter than anyone else. They like being the superstar on a team of average players. David fought against the common smallness we see in men of power. The list of mighty men proves that he wanted and needed others to be elite in his kingdom.
God does not play favorites. He loved David, but He loves you just as much. David may have been a king, but he needed lots of help, just as you do. Your Father does not care less for your needs because your kingdom may be smaller than David’s. God wants you to be surrounded by warriors who can help you become the complete man He knows you can be. He has elite things for you to do, so He will be faithful in providing the elite people you need. Trust in the faithfulness of your God. He is the one writing your relational story. Refuse to get stuck in your loneliest chapters. God wants to send the best relationships to his mighty men.
