Acts - Until Everyone Knows

DAY 19 OF 28

Acts 19

Paul returns to Ephesus on his third missionary journey. He meets a small group of believers and realizes they have never been filled with the Holy Spirit. He lays his hands on them, and they begin to speak in tongues and prophesy. He then preaches in the synagogue for around three months, but the people there publicly reject his message.

Throughout his missionary work, Paul would initially preach in synagogues when arriving in a city. If he faced opposition or rejection, he would then go on to preach to the Gentiles. So Paul holds daily discussions at a lecture hall for two years, and during that time, many people hear the Word of God. In fact, his preaching is so effective that it negatively impacts the businesses that made money from the temple worship to the goddess Artemis (vs. 26-27).

How do you effectively help people to receive the whole Gospel Message and grow in their faith? You plant seeds of the Gospel, persevering until God shows you to move on. Ask God to show you when it is right to move on if the person is unwilling to respond. This does not mean you have abandoned them. Instead, you have planted a seed. Continue praying for its germination and trust God. Persistence, kindness, wisdom, letting go, and starting afresh are all part of having a heart like Paul's.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Spirit at work within me today, giving me Strength and Wisdom for each opportunity I have to share the Good News. As I plant seeds, I trust You to water them and bring the growth. Amen.

Blessings Tinarwo

About this Plan

Acts - Until Everyone Knows

In Acts, we read about the Early Church taking its first steps to go out to the nations. This happened because ordinary people were filled with the Holy Spirit, enabling them to share the Good News of Jesus and bring healing and freedom. God has designed you to walk in the same Power today! As you learn from this Book, one chapter a day, and read the Devotional, consider this question: How can I step out more to share the Good News of Jesus in the Power of the Holy Spirit?
