Acts - Until Everyone Knows

DAY 18 OF 28

Acts 18

Paul spends time in Corinth, where he meets a couple called Priscilla & Aquila, who later become his partners in ministry. While there, Paul receives a vision from God, reassuring him not to be afraid but to speak out, as God was with him. Paul stays in Corinth for 1.5 years, the longest he has stayed in any place up to that point in his ministry. Paul then returns to Antioch in Syria, where his mission work began.

On his way to Syria, Paul stops in Ephesus and goes to the synagogue to reason with the Jews. This time, he is not persecuted. Instead, they ask him to stay longer (vs. 20-21). However, Paul declines because he does not believe it’s part of God’s Plan for him.

Are you seeking God's Will for your life and being obedient? After facing much persecution in previous locations, it would be understandable if Paul had decided to stay in Ephesus longer because the people were kind and receptive. It can be tempting to make decisions based on comfort or emotion, but are those decisions in line with God's Will?

It’s easy to quote Scriptures like Jeremiah 29:11, but sometimes to fulfill God's Plans that give you hope and a future, you will have to go through difficult times. Joseph was thrown into a pit, sold as a slave, and imprisoned before he later fulfilled God’s Ultimate Plan in Egypt. So, are you willing to trust God, even if the process is challenging?

Heavenly Father, thank You for the Good Plans You have for my life. Help me to trust You afresh today, in the waiting, in the wondering, and even in the pain. Amen.

Blessings Tinarwo

About this Plan

Acts - Until Everyone Knows

In Acts, we read about the Early Church taking its first steps to go out to the nations. This happened because ordinary people were filled with the Holy Spirit, enabling them to share the Good News of Jesus and bring healing and freedom. God has designed you to walk in the same Power today! As you learn from this Book, one chapter a day, and read the Devotional, consider this question: How can I step out more to share the Good News of Jesus in the Power of the Holy Spirit?
