40-Day Worship Experience Youth Devotionalਨਮੂਨਾ

If you’ve ever tried to talk to someone who is distracted, you know how challenging a conversation like that can be. Distractions break your connection with someone, but focus makes it stronger. That’s why one of the most important keys to drawing close to God is to set your thoughts on Him. This includes choosing to focus your attention on Him at the start of your day.
Focusing on God doesn’t mean ignoring “normal” life. It means you see everything through the lens of God’s goodness and love. When you first wake up each day, don’t let your mind obsess over the worries and goals of the day. Instead, turn them in a specific direction: toward God.
I often say, “Give God your best even when you feel your worst.” The best part of your day is the first part of your day because that is what sets the direction for the rest of it. Even if you feel half asleep, dedicating the first part of your day to God will help establish your priorities and set the course for the rest of your day. In the long run, a daily habit of focusing on God will literally change your life.
Right now, take a few minutes to set your thoughts, emotions, goals, and plans on God. Ask yourself, What does God think about my day? About my plans? About me? Shift your focus from what you can see to what God can see. Open your heart and your schedule to His divine transformation.
Reflect
What does it mean to you to “think about the things of heaven,” and how could you do that today?

About this Plan

Welcome to the 40-Day Worship Experience Youth Devotional! This is a time each morning to experience God’s presence for yourself. First, find a quiet space to be alone with Jesus for fifteen minutes before you start your day. All you need is your Bible, worship music, and a place to write down any ideas that come to you. Then, use the devotional readings, Bible verses, and reflection questions as a starting point to spend a few minutes with God. As you do, I believe you’ll build an exciting relationship that will transform every area of your life.
