40-Day Worship Experience Youth Devotional

DAY 10 OF 40

I hope you’ve been able to pray this simple prayer, “Jesus, I surrender my will to Yours” each morning. This is about more than just repeating a prayer. It’s about surrendering everything to the God who loves you more than you know.

Surrender is the key that ignites the flow of the Spirit, activates the gifts of the Spirit, and cultivates the fruit of the Spirit. Through surrender, you are changed more and more into the person you were created to be.

This transformation isn’t the result of your own strength, but rather it is God’s power at work within you. The more time you spend with Him and the more you trust Him, the deeper work He does in you, changing you from the inside out. Surrender leads to transformation, and transformation produces good fruit.

I’ve noticed that my anxiety level helps me notice areas in my life that I haven’t fully surrendered to the Lord. When anxiety begins to fill me, it often means I am subconsciously trying to regain control of some area, rather than trusting God.

Worry, fear, or frustration can indicate you’re moving away from the Holy Spirit’s flow of righteousness, peace, and joy. When anxiety tries to replace your peace, it’s a call to surrender once more. In these moments, it’s helpful to pause, take a deep breath, and pray, “Jesus, I surrender my will to Yours.”

Tomorrow we’ll move on to another simple prayer, but I invite you to keep praying this one each day. Rest in Him and trust in Him. Take a few minutes to think about your day, your family, your school, your actions, and your plans. Are you fully surrendered to God?

Reflect

Are there any areas of anxiety that you need to surrender to God today? What are they?

About this Plan

40-Day Worship Experience Youth Devotional

Welcome to the 40-Day Worship Experience Youth Devotional! This is a time each morning to experience God’s presence for yourself. First, find a quiet space to be alone with Jesus for fifteen minutes before you start your day. All you need is your Bible, worship music, and a place to write down any ideas that come to you. Then, use the devotional readings, Bible verses, and reflection questions as a starting point to spend a few minutes with God. As you do, I believe you’ll build an exciting relationship that will transform every area of your life.
