Draw Near. “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” James‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭KJV‬‬ Draw nigh to Christ. Draw close. Draw from His deep well. “Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.” James‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬. Purify your heart. Surrender your heart to Christ. For Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭9‬-10 KJV‬‬ declares, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” The New Living Translation puts it this way, “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.” Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬. Draw nigh to Christ and He’ll draw nigh to you. For Ezekiel‬ ‭36‬:‭25‬-‭26‬ ‭KJV‬‬ declares, “Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.”
