Be Filled With God's Joy

Scripture:

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.
Psalm 94:19 NIV

Reflection:

Joy doesn’t always come from laughter or good days.

Sometimes, it comes quietly, right after we let God hold our broken heart.

When we stop pretending we’re okay and let ourselves be comforted by Him, something beautiful happens.

His joy begins to rise where sorrow once lived.

Not fake happiness, but deep, soul-settling joy that doesn’t depend on circumstances.

Isaiah 51:3 NIV says, “He will comfort all her waste places… He will make her wilderness like Eden, joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of song.”

God turns dry, empty places into gardens again. When we bring our hurt to Him, He doesn’t just comfort, He restores.

And in that restoration, joy returns.

Journaling Prompt:

Is there a place in your heart where you need God’s comfort today? Ask Him to exchange your heaviness for His joy, and write about how that could change the way you show up today.

Prayer:

Lord, bring me joy in the middle of my anxious thoughts. Comfort my heart. Amen.

Practical Tip:

Do something today that brings you joy, like drawing, dancing, or playing music. Aim for light-hearted fun.
