Beauty Out Of Brokenness

Scripture:

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18 NIV

Reflection:

In Japan, there is an art called Kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired using gold. Instead of hiding the cracks, they are filled with shimmering gold lacquer, making the piece even more beautiful than before.

The break becomes part of the story. The flaw becomes the feature. That’s what God does with our hearts. When life shatters us through pain, loss, or disappointment, we might think we’re beyond repair.

But God doesn’t throw us away.

He picks up every broken piece and begins a gentle, beautiful restoration. Not just to put us back together, but to make us stronger, more radiant, more full of grace than we were before.

In his hands, your scars become sacred.

Your story, beautiful.

Journaling Prompt:

What is one place in your life that feels broken or fragile? Ask the Holy Spirit to show you His vision for this place in your life, and write what He shows you.

Prayer:

God, thank You for seeing me when I feel low. Help me feel Your nearness today. Amen.

Practical Tip:

Do you have something broken in your room or in a drawer? Could you create something new with the broken pieces? It can be a wonderful reminder of God’s faithfulness in putting our broken pieces back together.
