God Fights For You

Scripture:

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.
Exodus 14:14 NIV

Reflection:

The Israelites had just escaped slavery in Egypt, only to find themselves trapped — the Red Sea in front of them, Pharaoh’s army closing in behind.

Panic set in. It looked hopeless. But in that terrifying moment, Moses spoke these words:

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

God wasn’t asking them to figure it out or find a way through. He was asking them to trust.

And then He did the impossible. He parted the sea.

We may not face a literal army, but we all have days when we feel overwhelmed, boxed in, or anxious about what’s ahead. This verse reminds us that God still goes before us. When we feel powerless, He is powerful.

Our part is to trust, to stay close, and to let Him fight the battle we can’t win on our own.

What situation in your life feels like a “Red Sea moment”?

Are you trying to fix or fight something that God is asking you to surrender? Take a deep breath, and write a prayer of stillness and trust, letting Him take the lead.
