Standing Strong

Scripture:

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Ephesians 6:10 NIV

Reflection:

In The Lion King, there’s a moment where the cub, Simba, is challenged by the hyenas. He tries to roar, but it comes out weak. They laugh.

But then, he roars again. This time, it shakes the ground. Why? Because his father, Mufasa, is behind him.

It’s not just Simba’s roar anymore. It’s his father’s strength coming through him.

That’s what it’s like when we face fear, anxiety, or spiritual battles and feel like we’re not strong enough. On our own, we may not have much power. But when we speak with God’s authority — when we declare His truth, when we trust His presence —He roars through us.

Just like the hyenas fled in fear, the lies, fear, and darkness in our lives start to run when we stand in the strength of our Father. It’s not about how loud or strong we are. It’s about who stands behind us.

Journaling Prompt:

What “hyenas” have been laughing at you — fear, anxiety, insecurity? Ask the Holy Spirit to give you a Word that you can roar back at them.

Prayer:

Lord, give me strength when I feel weak. Help me stand firm in You. Amen.

Practical Tip:

When you feel overwhelmed, stand tall with your feet grounded. Slowly repeat this verse out loud, declaring God’s strength over your life:

I am STRONG in the Lord, and in the power of HIS might!
