# Dreams and headwinds [IMAGE CONTENT] What do you dream about? When I was eleven, I wrote in my journal, "I want to be a well-known pop singer and worship leader. Then I will get to sing for people everywhere, and then I hope they come to worship on Sunday and kneel before the cross!" I was young and had a goal, but accomplishing it didn't come easily or predictably. I was kicked out of the first choir I joined because I sang off-key. And I don't know how many churches I wrote to and asked if I could sing at their services…only to receive rejections. But I protected my dream through my faith. I didn't let other's words override God's words: "...'"You are My servant"; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'" (Isaiah 41:9-10, NIV) Again, I was eleven years old at the time! I had no experience and nothing else really "going for me." But I had my faith! If you add your faith to your dream , you will see God directing your steps! Recently I was walking through the rain when a strong headwind started blowing, but I kept walking because I wanted to get home. I had a goal in mind. If I hadn't had a destination, I would've stopped, wondering what to do next. But standing still in the rain, especially when a relentless headwind is pummeling you, is really nasty! So as the wind blew stronger, my steps became more determined—my desire to reach my destination spurred me on! How do you deal with headwinds? Is it possible that the last headwind you faced made you lose sight of your dream? If so, I invite you to pray with me today… "Jesus, I once had a dream...but I confess that I lost sight of it. I allowed the headwind to disorient and divert me. I didn't seek security from You as I should have, and I'm sorry. Today, I choose to add faith to my dream! Thank You for helping me trust You, and thank You for the victory You give me! In Jesus' name, amen." You are a miracle!
