Reason 11: Jesus’ followers worshiped Him as God

The first two of the Ten Commandments are that there is only one God, and that God alone is to
be worshipped. For devout Jewish worshippers to begin worshipping Jesus as the One True God was a revolutionary shift in their history. If untrue, it also meant that everyone who worshipped Jesus was doomed to hell. They believed Jesus’ words that He was the God of their ancestors risen from death and spoke truth when He said, “‘as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God: ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not God of the dead, but of the living” (Matthew 22:31-32).
