Miracles are sometimes called “mighty acts of God,” “signs” or “wonders.” When people saw them they were amazed. In the Bible, miracles are performed by God, by Jesus or through ordinary people by the Holy Spirit’s power. When Jesus made Simon Peter’s mother-in-law well, was it a “miracle”? Check, with these questions: Is it hard to explain how Jesus could make her well? How could he do that? Was it expected? Did the family expect Jesus could do such an amazing thing?
