Our Family Values

I don’t know if you’ve ever broken a bone or had to have a major operation – the pain and recovery impact the whole body. Moving one part impacts another and everything hurts. It may also be tough if you need help as you recover, people doing things for you, helping you with day-to-day tasks and it’s like everyone is sharing your suffering.

Have you ever won an award for something – school, sport, dance, study? How great is it to have your family or friends there supporting you and sharing in your delight? Everyone is rejoicing.

As part of Jesus’ family, we impact each other. We are like a body and this is the picture Paul is painting with these words. We are part of something really important because we are Jesus’ family and all connected, just like in a body.

This is an honor, and a privilege, and a responsibility. Let us support each other carefully during hard times and let us rejoice with each other when one is honored.  

We reflect our love of Jesus’ family values by the way we speak and act.
