May 25 Introduction Outside the Temple, Peter and John encounter a lame man begging for money, and Peter heals him. Peter then speaks in the Temple, explaining that Jesus, as the promised Messiah, had to suffer. Peter urges the people to repent and receive God’s forgiveness. Today’s Scripture Reading: Acts 3:1-26 Today’s Key Verse: Acts 3:25a “The promises of God through his prophets are for you, and you share in the covenant which God made with your ancestors.” Reflect In biblical times, people with physical ailments were considered unclean and were not allowed to enter the Temple. How does Peter’s healing of the man at the Beautiful Gate demonstrate the power of faith in Jesus? In what ways do you experience the power of faith?
