Today we want to learn from Mary’s experience whilst waiting for the Messiah.

As a devout Jewish girl, Mary was full of faith that one day a Saviour, her Saviour, would come. She didn’t know that God had chosen to use her to bring His son into the world. 

When she had her unexpected angelic encounter she was full of humility and clearly surrendered her own desires to God and agreeing to His will.

Her response was to go and spend time with her cousin Elizabeth whose testimony was told to her by the angel, and Elizabeth’s faith encouraged her own.

In this, we can learn that God is looking for people who are willing and humble, who don’t mind inconvenience but will agree to whatever He says. They know that His will is for their highest good. 

Additionally, God wants us to spend time with people who are full of faith and can share their testimonies with us. Then, we can encourage each other and grow in faith together.
