1 ДЕН ОД 24

The God Who Speaks The book of Habakkuk begins with the resounding resolution that what we have before us are no mere words on paper, but rather the very word of God as seen by His prophet Habakkuk. Judah during Habakkuk’s time had departed from God’s ways and had violated His holy laws. They worshipped idols and followed the ways of the ungodly nations around them. They had stopped listening to God. They had gone far away from the one who had redeemed them from the bondage of slavery in Egypt. However, God was not far away and He did not forsake his people. Despite all their treachery and sins, God came once more to His people by the oracle of His prophet; for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit (II Peter 1:21). Thus God embraced His people and Habakkuk in their doubts and questions. Such was His grace towards Judah. The very same God comes to us today. While we may have turned away from His ways, and followed the idols of the world, He is still by our side. While we may not have always listened to His voice, He still speaks to us through his prophetic word – the Bible. We have the greatest prophet, Jesus Christ, who continually speaks to us from His word. The scriptures are living for they are breathed out by God and profitable that we may be complete and equipped for every good work (II Timothy 3:16). Christ is the final prophet (Hebrews 1:2; Revelation 22:16, 18-19) who reveals to us God’s will. In these uncertain times, Christ speaks to us. All we need to do is spend time at His feet by reading His word.
