Whose I Am
Acts 27:23-24
“Last night an angel of the God whose I am and whom I serve stood beside me and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul…’”
Psalm 23:1
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want…”
Paul’s understanding of who he was as a person, his worth and value and his very life, all came from God. Paul belonged to God and served God. Jesus was Paul’s shepherd, and he did not lack anything. If we merely serve God but do not find our life in him, we are in want and will continue to be in want. However, once we find our life in God, all these things will be added to us. Our Shepherd desires to guide us, provide for us, protect us and reward us. However, he must first become our Source and our Shepherd.
Whose are we, and whom do we serve?
Lord Jesus, my life is in you. You have filled me with all I need as I serve you this day.
