Living Water
John 4:14
“…whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
The fountain of eternal life is not in some exotic location on the earth, but as Jesus said, “It is within us who believe.” The living water that Jesus gives to those who believe and who offer their lives to Him is the Spirit of God. Our thirst for love and the restoration of our completeness in another is fully realized in God. He satisfies that deep longing to belong and live with purpose, meaning and freedom. Our thirst, which is an existential search for true life, can only be satisfied by the Creator who gave us life and breath. When we choose to live for Him, his living presence (his Spirit) fills us, satisfies us and makes us a spring of living water for others who are also thirsty for life.
Lord Jesus, you are my life! Thank you for your Spirit which fills me and flows through me to others.
