Godly Heritage

Psalm 112:1, 2, 8
“Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in his commands. His children will be mighty in the land…his heart is secure, he will have no fear…”

When we find our security in God and walking in His ways, our children notice it and this security in God’s love shapes their lives as well. The delight and pleasure in knowing and doing God’s will in God’s way marks families who walk with God. There is no greater heritage that we can pass on to our children than the fear of the Lord and a delight in His commands. The strength and peace of living in God’s presence is a testimony to those around us. Our children become mighty when they find their strength in the Lord and living in His ways. When we give our children money, education, athletics and travel, but not the daily reality of walking with God, they leave our homes impoverished of Spirit and soul. God blesses families who live for Him.

Lord Jesus, thank you for our children and their choices to know and follow you. Thank you for the peace and security of heart that only you provide.
