Bread of Life

John 6:27, 35, 57
“Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you…I am the bread of life…the One who feeds on me will live because of me.”

Life is what Jesus offers us. He came to bring eternal life, abundant life and made it clear that it’s found in him. We’ve been offered so much more than sins forgiven and avoidance of eternal punishment for sin. We’ve been offered eternal life now. Jesus offers himself as the bread of life. Our invitation is to feed on him each day, to digest his words and to live by them. The life of the Spirit and the living words of Jesus within us are life.

Are we experiencing this full life?

Lord Jesus, I repent for thinking I can find life in any other food than you. Thank you for speaking to me and feeding me with your life-giving word today.
