Our King and His Kingdom
Isaiah 9:7
“Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.”
For those of us who have experienced salvation through Jesus Christ and know His peace in our hearts and minds, we sometimes forget that we are citizens in a kingdom with a king named Jesus. Our salvation was God’s idea, and He has assignments for us to accomplish in the kingdom. There is work to be done at His command. This work is not what builds the kingdom, but it is the zeal of the Lord Almighty through His Spirit at work in His kingdom citizens that builds His kingdom. The growth of this kingdom from the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, has been steady and global and will have no end.
Do we know whose we are, who we are and why we are here?
Lord Almighty, you are my king. May your rule be over all that I do this day, and may your name be glorified.
