One of the most authentic ways we can show that we have no other gods, that the Lord our God really is our number one, is to make him the decisive factor in all major decisions. Jesus not only encouraged that kind of thinking, but he attached a huge promise to it: “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these [material, temporary] things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33).
