But Jesus’ pinning was no victory save for God Himself. As for the nails; these were simply man’s help. Jesus was hand-picked. When He died, He didn’t fall off the tree like the pruned. He was taken down. And far more like a firstfruit chosen to be consumed, than as Caiaphas thought he’d accomplished. Jesus’ life was hardly over. In a blink of God’s eye, this same crucifixion which had so temporarily brought reprieve to Pilate’s gut, turned from travesty to mystery. Because no longer was this some Roman justice carried out. It was God’s. As for the Here, I AM; He was only beginning.
