Day 7 - He Gets Us: Jesus changed history

In our six pictures of Jesus we discover that he gets us. He really does.

...His teachings prove he understood the things we struggle with; he identified with what we love and fight for. His example of love and acceptance was so counterculture that he upset first century expectations, as well as every other point in history—including now.

...His model of approachability, empathy, and compassion stands in contrast to our increasingly petty and mean-spirited world. His life models for us another way to live.

...He knows that our search for peace has eluded us. But Jesus doesn’t disappoint. He offers true, dependable love and reconciliation that brings wholeness to those who follow him.

Yes, Jesus’ reach and radical life story sheds more light on our existence than anything anyone has ever said about him before or since. There’s no denying it.

Like the famous author, H. G. Wells admitted: “I am not a believer, but I must confess as a historian that this penniless preacher from Nazareth is irrevocably the most dominant figure in all history.”

Even Wikipedia named Jesus Christ the most significant person in human history after research probed the success of an individual’s ideas applied in society through time.

Wow...yes, Jesus is all that.
