Lot is a study of a man so immersed in his situation that he can’t see it clearly. Although he knows what’s right, he’s let his setting dangerously reshape his perspective.

Something to think about while you are reading today’s passage:

People around Lot scoff at God’s pronounced judgement, but even Lot seems to drag his feet when it comes to being obedient. With the angels pulling him out the door, he seems reluctant to actually leave. What makes it so hard for us to choose well, even when consequences loom?

Something to talk about with players of The Aetherlight:

Lloyd, Alexander’s nephew in The Aetherlight, has the same struggle. He won’t leave the mines until all his equipment is recovered, even though his life is in danger. It’s like saving his business - which is an unhealthy one to start with! - is more important than saving himself. It’s a great place to discuss with players why we sometimes want to make bad choices, and what really matters.
