Be Nice to Who?!?

Abraham seems to follow a clear set of instructions and expectations when he takes Isaac up the mountain. Rituals like this were not unknown in that time and place, and he seems very careful to do everything right. He could have tried to take a shortcut - make the sacrifice at home, skip setting the fire, not take Isaac at all - but you can imagine how that would have worked out.

Something to think about while you are reading today’s passage:

What God really provides here, more than a son, a ram, or a promise, is a means to know Him. There is no shortcut we can take. Consider how He reveals His character and heart in our story and reminds us that He is indeed the way, the truth and the life.

Alexander’s decision to follow the Scarlet Man’s orders in The Aetherlight reflect a man who has learned that there is indeed a right way to follow. It’s a good opportunity to talk with players about how God provides the way to follow Him in Christ.
