Walking With Jesus Pavyzdys

I’ve passed over Matthew 4:11 almost every time I’ve read this story. It says “Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.”
Two interesting observations: First, when Jesus responded with Scripture the devil left. Wow! However, the devil did not leave after the first time. The devil did not leave after the second time. The devil left after the third time. How often do we respond to temptation with scripture? How often do we persevere with more scripture each time we are tempted? Don’t give up responding to temptation with the power of God’s Word.
Secondly, the angels came and attended him. Other versions say they served Jesus. They comforted Jesus as He overcame temptation. We also have a comforter as followers of Christ. John 14:16-17 Jesus says “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.”
Today’s Scripture: Matthew 4: 1-11 and Matthew 4:11
Pray. Ask God to reveal to you His truths as you read His Word. Don’t skip this important step.
Read: As you read ask the “5 W’s and an H” questions: Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?
Daily Challenge: I encourage you to be mindful today of the comfort of the Holy Spirit. Whatever you are facing, let the Holy Spirit comfort you, guide you, serve you. Come to Jesus and He will give you rest.
