God Is Our Strength

“God is my strength and power, and He makes my way perfect.” — 2 Samuel 22:33 NKJV

We all face moments when life feels overwhelming. The demands are heavy, and our strength runs out quickly. In 2 Samuel, David gives us a reminder we desperately need: “God is my strength and power, and He makes my way perfect.”

Notice what David does not say. He doesn’t declare, “I am strong.” Instead, he points to God as the source of his ability to endure. That perspective changes everything. Our strength isn’t about how much we can handle—it’s about who holds us up when we can’t.

This truth is freeing. It means you don’t have to fake being unshakable when you’re not. You can admit your weakness, because God meets you in it. His strength covers the gaps where yours runs out. His power steadies you when life feels unstable.

David also says that God makes his way perfect. This doesn’t mean life will be flawless or free from hardship. It means God gives us exactly the strength we need to walk the path He sets before us. His strength equips us for today, and His power carries us into tomorrow.

When your strength feels gone, don’t despair. Lean into God’s Word. Pray for His help. Rest in His presence. He will supply what you lack, because His strength is unending.

Reflection Question:
What is one area of your life where you need to stop pretending to be strong on your own and instead let God be your strength?
