Found My Life

Do you have those times where you’ve lost your confidence? Or you don’t feel you have a purpose? Maybe you’ve suffered so much rejection and hurt that you’ve put up walls around your heart? The solution to all the above is simply—Jesus. Jesus came to give us an abundant life. A life of purpose, peace, and joy. With our confidence so deep in an identity in Jesus, we can only pour out his love to those around us.

As Christians, we also have an enemy, one who wants to destroy and has us believe lies that go against the truth of God. One who creates doubt, causes shame, and makes us inwardly focus on our pain and confusion. But we have hope. We have Jesus. John 10:10 gives us a warning, but it also gives us hope. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

So, friend, know that you have an enemy. But pursue Jesus with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. He is always available, always there, and waiting for you to come running into his arms. Surrender your entire life to him.

It’s when you find Jesus that you find your life. When we put our trust and hope in Jesus, we see his redemptive power. The woman in Matthew 9 trusted that just a touch of Jesus’s robe would heal her issue of blood. And the woman in Matthew 26 used a year’s salary worth of perfume on Jesus’ feet because she knew Jesus was way more valuable. Like these women, we can also trust and value Jesus in this way. And when we do, Jesus can change us in a way that reflects him to the world around us and allows us to step into the freedom he wants for us.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I know you are always there. You know all and see all. You can give me a full life in you. I confess the ways I haven’t made you a priority. When I’ve put other things ahead of you. My heart's desire is to love you deeply. And from that place to love those around me so they see your goodness, grace, forgiveness. Help me replace all the lies the enemy has told and replace them with the Biblical truths that I am chosen, loved, valued, and given your purpose. Jesus, I want the abundant life only found in you. In Jesus' name, amen.
