From the Mountain to Our Streets

What does a powerful moment with God change on Monday morning?

Peter never forgot the mountain. He said they were “eyewitnesses of his majesty” and heard the voice from the Majestic Glory, and that this confirmed the message of Scripture as a light in a dark place (2 Peter 1:16 to 19, NIV). Encounters build confidence. They are signposts that point us to a lifetime of listening and obeying.

The Transfiguration also gives us a preview of the future. John saw the risen Jesus and fell at His feet as though dead. Jesus said, “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever” (Revelation 1:17 to 18, NIV). Revelation paints a hopeful picture of where the story is going. One day there will be a city that does not need a temple or even the sun because “the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp” (Revelation 21:23, NIV). A simple way to say Revelation 21:22 to 24 is this. God’s presence will be the light of the world forever, and people from every nation will enjoy it.

Until that day, Jesus keeps changing us right here. Paul says that as we look to the Lord, we are being transformed into His image with ever increasing glory (2 Corinthians 3:18, NIV). That means mountain moments should lead to street-level kindness, courage, and good news. Listen to Jesus. Then carry His light into your home, your school, your workplace, and your neighborhood. You are part of God’s bright plan.

Thank you for journeying through Lift Up Your Eyes. Your hunger for God matters. As you keep looking up, may He keep lifting you, shaping you, and sending you as a blessing to others.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for this journey. Fix my eyes on You and fill me with Your Spirit today. Let my words, work, and relationships reflect Your glory. Use me to carry Your light into dark places. Amen.
