YOUnique Purpose - Why Purpose?

DAY 4 OF 8

Created To

If you were not created to Conform, Compare, Compete, or Compromise, then what were you created for? You were created for something far more meaningful, purposeful, and fulfilling. You were created to Celebrate, Collaborate, Co-create, and Contribute to God’s plan for your life and the world around you.

You were not designed to simply fit in with the world’s patterns, nor were you meant to compare yourself to others or be in constant rivalry with those around you. You were never intended to compromise your identity or your values for the sake of worldly approval. Instead, God has placed within you a YOUnique Purpose—something only you can fulfill. He has equipped you with special gifts, talents, and passions, specifically designed for you to live a life that reflects His glory and blesses others.

So, if you are not here to conform, compare, compete, or compromise, what exactly were you created for? Let’s explore:

Celebrate

"For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." - Psalm 139:13-14 (KJV)

You were created unique and special by God. He is the potter and you are the clay. God made you perfect, and you can celebrate that.

Some have brown eyes, some have blue eyes; some are white, some are brown, some are black. Some are left-handed, and some are right-handed. Some are gifted in one way, while others are gifted in another. You were made a particular way for a purpose, and you need to celebrate the way God has made you. When you complain or are dissatisfied with the way you look or your personality, you are implying that there was a flaw in God’s creation of you. Instead, you must accept and go beyond that by celebrating who and how God has made you.

Consider the life of Nick Vujicic, who was born in 1982 without limbs. Despite his physical limitations, he has become one of the world's most well-known motivational speakers, inspiring millions through his resilience and faith. His website,www.nickvujicic.com, states: “There was no medical conclusion as to why he was born this way, but in spite of his physical limitations, his courage and tenacity for life have caused him to become one of the biggest motivational speakers in the world, known as an expert on resilience and reframing challenges.” In his project "Gifting the World Hope," Nick shares 12 keys to living a full life and how to pass on the principles of resilience, courage, and faith. His vision is to equip the world to survive in difficult times. Nick not only celebrates his life but shares hope with a hurting world. If Nick can celebrate how God made him, you and I can surely celebrate how God made us.

Just as Nick celebrates his life, Joni Erickson Tada celebrates hers, even after a life-changing accident. Born in 1949, Joni led a very active life, enjoying horseback riding, hiking, tennis, and swimming. However, at the age of 17, a diving accident left her a quadriplegic, paralyzed from the shoulders down. She could have spent her life feeling like a victim, but instead, she chose to celebrate how God re-shaped her life through the tragedy. Not only did Joni go on to live a fulfilling life, but she also founded "Joni and Friends," a ministry that serves people with disabilities by providing them with practical help and sharing the love of Jesus. Since its founding in 1979, "Joni and Friends" has impacted thousands around the world, delivering wheelchairs and Bibles and organizing retreats for families affected by disability. Her ministry follows Jesus' call in Luke 14:21, 23: “Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.… Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.”

Her life motto is: “Sharing Hope through Hardship.”

If Nick and Joni can celebrate their lives despite their challenges, you and I can certainly celebrate how God has made us. We can live for His glory, recognizing that He has made us for a purpose and that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
