DAY 6: THE OX & THE YOKE

In 1st-century Rome, a coin featured an ox on both sides: one side showed the ox ploughing, and the other depicted it ready for sacrifice, with the inscription "Ready for both."

In Revelation 4, John writes about the four living creatures that led worship. The ox symbolizes servanthood—both through labour and sacrifice. This invites us into sacrificial worship and servanthood. My question is: “Are we ready for both? “

Worship isn't about rituals but offering our lives in humble service to God. In Romans 12:1, Paul invites us into a life of sacrifice, inviting us to offer our bodies to God as living sacrifices. He calls this true worship!

By this, we understand that our daily lives are opportunities to honour God and serve Him. In Mark 10:42-44, we are challenged to embrace servanthood as Jesus did, putting others before ourselves. By doing this, we mirror Christ’s ministry of humble service and sacrifice.

In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus invites us to take His yoke upon ourselves. This yoke signifies partnership and shared purpose. The concept of being yoked to Jesus also highlights the deep intimate, supportive, and loving relationship He offers. It is also about the condition of our hearts and our alignment with God's truth.

It’s time for us to move from ritualistic, legalistic, and relationship-less Worship.

God is calling us deeper. He is calling us to live a life of sacrifice, servanthood, and surrender, to be yoked with Him in an Intimate relationship, in His purpose. Jesus is calling us to live lives that reflect true worship—a vibrant relationship with our Creator. By doing so, we participate in God’s redemptive plan, advancing His Kingdom and establishing His will on earth as it is in heaven.
