DAY 5: THE LION

Isaiah 6 and Revelation 4 reveal an extraordinary scene of worship. Around the throne, four living creatures continuously proclaim, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." Among them is one with the face of a lion.

The lion immediately points us to Jesus, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. This title originates from Jacob’s prophetic blessing over Judah in Genesis 49:8-10, foretelling a royal lineage culminating in Christ, the victorious King. Jesus has already won the battle over sin and death, and as believers, we share in His victory.

Psalm 22:3 also tells us that God inhabits the praises of His people. As we lift our voices, His presence fills our lives, bringing peace, breakthrough, and transformation. Worship is not a means to earn God’s favour; rather, it is an expression of our secure identity in Christ.

Psalm 149 calls us to "sing to the Lord a new song" and rejoice in our King. This song is the anthem of those redeemed by Christ. As we worship, we participate in the victory of Jesus, wielding the Word of God as our spiritual weapon. Luke 10:19-20 assures us that we have authority in Christ, and through worship, we engage in spiritual warfare, proclaiming His triumph.

Romans 8:37 declares, "In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." We are not victims of circumstance; instead, we stand in the authority of Christ, triumphing over challenges in the power of the Spirit. Our worship should reflect this reality.

Jesus, the Lion of Judah, calls us to worship from a place of heavenly authority. You and I are invited to lift our voices in praise, confident in His finished work. Let our worship reflect the power and triumph of our King as we walk boldly in His victory.

Let us lift our voices today, declaring the greatness of our God and the victory we have in Jesus!
