神の前に、正しく良い者になりたいと心から願っている人は幸いです。そういう人の願いは完全にかなえられるからです。 親切であわれみ深い人は幸いです。そういう人はあわれみを受けるからです。 心のきよい人は幸いです。そういう人は親しく神とお会いできるからです。 平和をつくり出す人は幸いです。そういう人は神の子どもと呼ばれるからです。 神の御心に従ったために迫害されている人は幸いです。神の国はそういう人のものだからです。 わたしの弟子だというので、悪口を言われたり、迫害されたり、ありもしないことを言いふらされたりしたら、それはすばらしいことなのです。 喜びなさい。躍り上がって喜びなさい。天の国では、大きな報いが待っているからです。昔の預言者たちも、そのようにして迫害されたことを思い出しなさい。
