DAY 5 OF 28

Day 5—Declare God’s love and forgiveness in your worship

Devotional
Oh, the love of God! His motive for all that He does is love (Romans 8:38-39 NIV), and this confirms that nothing can separate us from His love—isn’t that amazing? In Psalm 103 (NIV), David is speaking to his soul and is calling to remembrance all God has done for him because of His abundant love. God forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases (Psalm 103:3 NIV); He is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in love (Psalm 103:3 NIV). And He loves you despite what you have done or not done. He offers mercy, forgiveness, and grace before you thought you needed it (Romans 5:6-8 NIV). He didn’t wait for you to get to near perfection, but loves you with all your imperfections. So, let His lavish love and forgiveness motivate you to worship Him always! And remember this—your worship isn’t restricted to Sundays, but is the rhythm of a grateful heart every single day. So, just like David, when the enemy tries to bring to mind all your past sins or what you are currently struggling with, lean in to God’s love, His mercy, and His forgiveness. Speak out and sing out how grateful you are for His love and forgiveness.

Prayer
Father, thank You for who You are—a God of love and forgiveness. You love me unashamedly, and that love was deeply expressed through the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus. I come today with a heart that remembers Your mercy. Thank You for not treating me as my sins deserve, but instead, showering me with Your compassion. Amen.

Application
Take in a deep breath (go on, do it!), and try to recall some of the ways you have experienced God’s love and forgiveness. Write them down and then speak out these blessings as a prayer of praise.

About this Plan

Deeper in Worship

"Deeper In Worship" is a 28-day plan designed to help you grow in your love for God through a fuller understanding of why and how we worship. Worship is for God alone; it is deeply spiritual, often physical, and a journey into encountering the presence of God. The plan includes a daily Psalm and a New Testament passage. It finishes with a short devotional, a prayer, and a suggested application.
