“The chief cup-bearer, however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.” – Genesis 40:23 (NIV)

Joseph had done everything right. He had interpreted the dreams accurately, shown kindness, and even asked for help. But when the cupbearer was restored to his position, Joseph was left in prison—forgotten. Can you imagine how crushing that must have felt? Another dead end. Another delay. Another year of waiting.

Yet, even in that dark, lonely place, God had not forgotten Joseph. Though people may forget us, overlook our kindness, or delay in keeping their promises, God is always working behind the scenes. He was preparing Joseph for a greater purpose, a position of influence he could never have orchestrated on his own.

If you feel forgotten today, know this: God has not lost sight of you. His timing may not be yours, but His plans are still unfolding. Stay faithful. Keep trusting. What seems like a setback might just be the setup for what’s next.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You that even when others forget me, You never do. You see every moment of my life: every disappointment, every delay, every unanswered prayer. You are not slow in keeping Your promises, but You are patient and wise, working out something far greater than I can imagine.

Help me not to grow bitter in the waiting but to grow deeper in faith. Give me eyes to see Your hand at work even when I feel overlooked.

Strengthen my heart to trust You fully, knowing that You are good and Your timing is perfect. I surrender the outcome to You and choose to walk in hope today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
