Jesus Over the Grave

Jesus is over death and the grave. We know this because He was crucified on the cross and raised Himself back to life. Even death couldn’t hold Him down! Acts 2:24 (NIV): “But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.” If death is the greatest thing to fear, and even it cannot stand against the Name of Jesus, then we no longer need to be afraid. What’s even crazier is that Christ offers us eternal life through His sacrifice. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, for those who believe, we have been given that same power over death through the Holy Spirit dwelling within us.

Romans 8:11 (NIV): “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”

Today, you have the power to claim life in the Name of Jesus! Claim the resurrection power over the things that feel dead in your life. Maybe it’s a relationship, a marriage, a job, a financial situation, or a physical or mental illness. Dead things come alive in the Name of Jesus. Jesus is over the grave. It’s my prayer that this devotional would be a reminder of just how powerful the name of Jesus is over everything.
