God, I’m Tired: Honest Rest for Exhausted Parents

DAY 1 OF 8

God, I’m Tired...I Can’t Keep Faking It

You can hold it together in front of your kids, your spouse, the school drop-off line, the church lobby, but when you’re alone? You know the truth.
You’re tired. Not just sleepy, soul-tired. Burned out from trying to be the glue for everyone else while feeling like you’re falling apart inside.

Somewhere along the way you learned to smile and say, “I’m good, just tired,” as if being bone-weary is normal and holy. It’s not.
Jesus never asked you to wear exhaustion like a badge. He never demanded you fake strong so people think you’re “spiritually mature.”
He just said: Come.
Come to Me — weary.
Come to Me — burdened.
Come to Me — honest.

You can’t heal what you keep pretending doesn’t hurt. You can’t rest if you keep performing. God doesn’t want your polished prayers, He wants your honest confession: “God, I’m tired. I can’t fake this anymore.”
That’s when He trades your grind for real rest...not just sleep for your body, but restoration for your soul.
He’s not repelled by your weakness. He’s attracted to it because it’s where He shows up strong.

So tonight, whisper it out loud: “God, I’m tired.” And mean it.
He already knows and He’s already waiting.

Reflection

What weight have you been carrying alone because you thought you had to? What would it look like to give it to God tonight not just in theory, but for real?

Prayer

Jesus, I’m done faking strong. I confess what I’ve been hiding…I’m exhausted. Teach me how to rest in You, not just keep surviving. Meet me here and hold what I can’t carry anymore. Amen.
