Holy, Not SuperhumanSýnishorn

Not Weird… Just Useful!
Let’s be honest: some “holy” people seem like they’re from another planet. You know the type, those who stare at you with mystical eyes, speak in parables even in the supermarket, and survive on a diet of air, fasting, and awkward silences. But hold on a second: is that real holiness, or just a performance?
Because true holiness, the kind that comes from God’s heart, doesn’t make you weird. It makes you useful.
Holiness isn’t about dressing up as a “professional religious person.” It’s not about quoting verses in every conversation or speaking in a preacher’s tone even when ordering a sandwich. Holiness means being ready, available, and practical.
A holy person is someone who reaches out when another needs a hand, who hits their knees when there’s a spiritual battle, who listens when a heart needs encouragement.
Jesus was the holiest of all, and yet crowds followed Him. Sinners drew near instead of running away. Kids loved Him, not feared Him. The only people who judged Him were the religious types (but hey, who was truly holy, them or Him?). Jesus modeled a holiness that smelled like grace, sounded like welcome, and looked like real love. And that’s the kind we’re called to live.
Want to be used by God? Then let Him purify you, not to make you perfect, but to make you a tool in His hands. Think of a glass: if it’s clean, you’re happy to use it. If it’s dirty… not so much. Holiness isn’t for show; it’s for purpose. It doesn’t make you “more spiritual,” it makes you more ready. And honestly, there’s no greater honor in God’s kingdom than being useful for something eternal.
Pray this simple prayer:
Father, I don’t just want to be “nice,” I want to be useful. Purify me from what weighs me down or keeps me stuck. Make me a clean glass, ready to be filled and used by You.
